KALY Radio representatives Mahamed Cali and Ahmed Kanan met today with Minneapolis Public Schools super intendent Ed Graph and discussed plans for the MPS Community meeting for immigrant and refugee families.
MPS is committed to being a safe haven for everyone. We know that recent current events have raised questions for some immigrant and refugee families. We want to lend support wherever possible. Together with our community partners, we’re hosting two upcoming meetings to answer questions and connect families with resources both in our schools and in the community. Speakers will include Superintendent Ed Graff, along with community partners including the Immigrant Law Center, Council on American-Islamic Relations, Navigate and the Somali American Parent Association. We will also have experts available to provide information on helping children cope with stress and anxiety. The meetings are free to attend and no registration is necessary.
